as for a hobbit, it's one of the Tolkien charachters, but the song itself is just random babble, Glen commented live once about how he read a really deep and intrucuit interpretation of what the song meant, which he though was funny because he wrote it in 3 minutes because they didn't want it to be unfinished, it needed demo lyrics, they ended up keeping the demo lyrics for the version they recorded for "Fear", but, the song was cut from the album
same with Walk On The Ocean, he wrote it in 5 minutes so he wouldn't have to hum on the demo
basically, "Hobbit" is just a fun song with no real meaning or story behind it......
