: Hey,
: The "drive by" song is more of a story than a personal expression....it's told through the eyes of a kid who doesn't want the dog to get shot...and tries to barter with the man upstairs in haste...which I'm sure we've all done...and the requests are usually off the wall...I kinda dig that song and it's story...then again, it probably wasn't written as a career defining moment...just a happy little diddy....
:
: Janitor
: : Some poor taste lyrics:
: : "And I prayed 'Dear God, if you save this dog
: : I will never get high, I will never jack off"
: : It may just be me but those are in very porr taste in my opnion and I think he can write WAY better lyrics than that!
the whole song is a tongue-in-cheek retelling of a story Ben Folds told to Glen about his childhood
I find none of it in poor taste, it's a very well written little ditty
you want poor taste
"it's a fucked up world and a fucked up [lace everyone judged by their fucked up face fucked up dreams fucked up knife fucked up kid with a fucked up knife fucked up moms fucked up dads fucked up cop with a fucked up badge"
what's worse, is that the last up line is altered to "fucked up queers fucking fucked up fags" when it's done it live
now that's just beautiful, isn't it?Fred Durst is such a poet
I think Glen's doing just *fucking* fine with his writing
